The Red Stag Timber Hunters Club
When The Hunters Club started back in 2014, the Tatonka Lastenkraxe was the pack of choice for cameraman and producer Dave Shaw due to it being able to easily handle the awkward and bulky camera and recording gear. However, as technology improved and the gear became smaller, Dave gave the Bison 75+10 a crack. Straight off the bat, he noticed a huge difference, with the compartmentalised system and comfort being a game changer.
With Dave already using one and the love for the Tatonka Bison growing amongst New Zealand hunters, the rest of the team were keen to be fitted out with Tatonka packs too! Tatonka NZ became the official pack partner of The Hunters Club in Series 4. With the team happy with their new Tatonka gear, Tatonka tent sponsorship followed in Series 5.
The rest of the team:
-
Sam Yule | Dunedin
“My favourite area to hunt would have to be anywhere in the Mt Aspiring National Park. Having spent a lot of time hunting this area over the years it really has become a part of me. From her towering mountains to her meandering rivers, her tussock flats and bush clad gullies this is my home away from home.”
-
Anto Hall | Queenstown
“I love targeting all species of game whether it runs, flies or swims but there is certainly something special about hunting Red Stags during the Roar. Regardless of whether it is up close in the bush or out in the open Central Otago tops, hearing these animals roar is amazing.”
-
Andre Alipate | Waikato
“My favourite area in New Zealand to hunt is the Canterbury high country especially chasing Red Stags. There’s a lot of nostalgia for me personally in those hills where many a long backpack hunt took place with good friends, there was plenty of hard work and miles covered on the foot with heavy packs and we certainly took out some memorable racks.”
-
Tim Barnett | Nelson
“White-tail deer are my favourite target species. They are a cunning deer, beautiful eating and live in a stunning part of our country. Hunting White-tail deer is an adventure whether you find one or not.”
